Kiev begins transport upgrade for Euro 2012

July 29 - Kiev has started transport upgrade as a part of preparations for the Euro 2012.

An agreement to buy the first ten buses was signed between Kyivpastrans, the city's municipally owned transport system, and LAZ Trade and Financial Company Ltd.

Around 100 new buses, which would be used to transport fans from the Boryspil airport to Kiev, are due to eventually be bought as a part of preparations for the Euro 2012, which Ukraine is jointly hosting with Poland.

Trolleybuses and trams also would be upgraded for the tournament.
